Whelp, I wasn’t actually nominated for this tag, but I felt like writing tonight. The problem being that I’m feeling especially un-creative, so answering pre made questions was a perfect solution! Plus, I thought some of you may want to get to know me a bit better! Either that, or I just really enjoy talking about myself! Ha…ha….::cough::

Here we go!

The Beauty Blogger Tag

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
Straight. There is literally zero wave to it. I can’t even make curls happen with the correct tools. My hair is possibly even more stubborn than I am!

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I have a wonderful stylist! I used to dye it myself. But after I botched my hair for the tenth time, I figured I’d better leave it to the professionals.

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it up?
If by changing it up, you mean alternating between wearing it straight or in a ponytail…then I change it up.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I rarely do them. When I do, I cheat.

I LOVE this product for quick, easy manicure.

5. How often do you change your nail polish?
Like I said, nails aren’t my top priority. Lately, I’ve been doing them about once a month or so.

6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer?
Basically just during the warm months or if I have an event to go to. Same goes for shaving my legs. Too much information? Never.

7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
Too long. I do have to say that I honestly enjoy my makeup process, so I totally take my time. I usually being my iPad into the bathroom and either listen to music or watch Netflix. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite parts of the day!

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?
I feel like these questions are totally boring to the reader. Are you bored? I honestly apologize if you are! Anyway, first I apply moisturizer and eye primer. Next I do my eyes, foundation/concealer/powder, eyebrows, blush, and lips..in that order.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
Oh…you know..just what I absolutely need!

::shrugs sheepishly::

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I can count how many times I’ve worn them on one hand. It’s just an extra step I feel I really don’t need. I will pull them out occasionally if I’m really trying to fancy it up, but that’s a situation that rarely occurs.

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
I don’t wear makeup every day. When I do wear it, I usually go all out.

12. Do you wear makeup when you’re home alone or with family?
I usually don’t wear makeup when I’m home. My husband prefers my bare face. My bare, boyish, twelve-year-old looking face.

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?
Definitely. Especially if I’m running my kiddo to and from school. I feel like his teachers probably think I’m such a slob since they rarely see me in anything other than sweatpants and a t-shirt.

14. How many high-end products do you have?
Too many.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you’re getting dressed?
I’m not morning person, so if I’m working the next morning I will lay out my clothes ahead of time. Anything to make my crazy mornings a little more manageable!

16. How often do you change your handbag?
I never use a handbag..or purse, as they’re also known as. I usually just carry around my wallet and keys.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
I usually go to sleep around 11:30-12, and I wake up around 7-8.

18. How often or when do you workout?
Lately, I’ve been working out daily. When I say lately, I mean the last three days. Before that, it had definitely been a while.

19. Left handed or right handed?
Right.

20. How tall are you?
5’1.5″
Yes, it’s important to keep that .5 in there..

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?
Not currently, but learning Spanish is on my bucket list.

22. How many pets do you have?
Four! Two cats and two dogs.

23. How often are you on Blogger?
I’m a little sporadic when it comes to writing new posts, but I stay pretty consistent. I do check it at least once a day.

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
It depends on the topic, but yes!

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
I definitely keep a mental note.

26. How did you come up with your blog name?
I’m awkward. Like..really awkward. It’s a gift. Also, I’m addicted to makeup. Put those two things together, and there we have it!

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?
If I’m lazy, my iphone. If I’m reviewing something or showing an actual makeup look, then I use my Canon Rebel T3i.

28. How often do you clean your house?
Wow, this is getting a little tough, even for me. ::yawn!::
Some things I do daily, such as the dishes, anything relating to the animals, etc. The rest is done on a weekly basis.

29. What’s your favorite color?
Yellow.

30. Do you swear?
Only when I really mean it!

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Going to bed! But first, I’ll lie awake and contemplate if I should have actually posted this. Hmm…

Well, cest la vie! I spent the time answering these dull questions, so I may as well post them..for the world to see. I’ve got some more riveting topics in store for the near future!

Friends. If you ever had a doubt that I lived an extravagant life, let me just set the record straight. My life is so glamorous that Fergie herself would be jealous. You know, because she sings the song…Glamorous? Anyway, let me just take you through a day in the life of yours truly. This morning, I had to wake up bright and early to take my child to preschool. Do I bother to change into regular clothes? No, I don’t want to appear like I’m trying too hard. I like to put on the front that I’m just like the rest of the moms out there. So I rock the frump. To take it a step further, I decided against brushing my teeth and wearing a bra. You see, I’m really getting into character! Plus, I’ll only be in there a minute to drop him off, right? Well, today I had a little excitement. I left my keys in the car while it was still running! What fun! I’ve never had to call a locksmith before today. What a treat! Luckily, I was able to hang out with the school superintendent while I waited. In only 42 minutes, the locksmith arrived! Impressively, he earns $65 for two minutes of work! Good for him. Anyway, the rest of the day consisted of meeting up with some friends and running a few errands. I had to purchase a few glamorous household things such as a new shower curtain, a garbage can, and lettuce.

On to the evening! After a quick stop at my parents for dinner, I headed home to begin some cleaning! I know, I know..it’s almost criminal how much fun I’m about to have. First off, I scrubbed the bathrooms from top to bottom! But wait…what’s that heavenly aroma? Could that be…feces? Yes! Apparently the dog hadn’t wanted to go potty outside when I took her a minute ago. She felt crapping on the plush carpet suited her better. Who can blame her? Anyway, after cleaning that bit up, I vacuumed the entire house. Whoa, whoa, whoa! Was that a wet spot I just stepped on? I gazed up at the ceiling to make sure the roof hadn’t sprung a leak. It hadn’t. That must mean the dog decided to pee on the carpet as well! That’s okay, that particular spot was able to get extra clean. I should be thanking her! While on the topic of bodily fluids, I decided to clean out the litter boxes while I was at it. My favorite part about cleaning them out is when my cat immediately pees in one as soon as I bag up the goods. Why leave it spotless? It is a litter box, after all. At this point I was getting a little fatigued, but I like to see just how far I can push myself. I thought it might be extra fun to mop the kitchen floor! As soon as I walked in, my cat knocked a decorative vase of pickled peppers off the highest cabinet. It was the biggest one! It almost moved in slow motion as it cascaded down to the floor. And yes, it shattered into a thousand pieces. What a neat noise it made, too! The best part was that it was filled with decade old vinegar. The smell kind of reminded me of dying Easter eggs, so that was fun and nostalgic. It took about an hour to fully clean that up. Whew! After that, I thought I’d end the evening by giving the living room a quick dust. Again, I smelled something…different. It was a mixture of rotten vinegar and something oddly familiar from earlier this evening. Poop! Again! I didn’t think she had any more left in her, but boy was I wrong! To end my fairytale-like day, I decided to treat myself to a glass of wine. Wow. What a life!

Even after all that, I still wanted to get this little review out to you all. Over the last few months, I’ve acquired five of the Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Lipsticks.

You can find them at your local drugstore and they retail for around $7.50. Let me tell you…they are amazing! They have serious staying power and they keep my lips feeling hydrated. That’s a rarity in the matte variety. Another bonus to these beauties is the fact that I don’t really notice much feathering when I wear them! They really do stay in place. Enough with the talking, let’s get to swatching! I put each one on so you could get a feel of what they really look like. Keep in mind that I can’t keep a straight face to save my life.
